The Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) is categorized into different types, and this particular program is categorized as Type B. This scholarship is available for both Master's and Doctorate students.


Scholarship Duration

Master's Program: Typically 3 years.

Doctorate Program: Typically 4 years.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, with at least 10 years of residence in their home country.
Applicants should be under 35 years old for Master's studies, and under 40 years old for Doctorate studies.
Educational Requirements:
Master’s Applicants: Must have a bachelor’s degree.
Doctorate Applicants: Must have a Master’s degree.
Language Proficiency:

For Chinese-taught programs: Applicants must have passed the HSK4 exam.
For English-taught programs: Applicants should have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 80.
Scholarship Benefits
The Chinese Government Scholarship provides the following benefits:

Waiver of application fee, tuition fees, and accommodation costs.
Monthly Stipend:
PhD students: 3,500 RMB/month
Master’s students: 3,000 RMB/month

Please note that students are responsible for their own transportation costs.
How to Apply
To apply, you need to complete two application forms: one on the CSC website and another on the Guangxi University website.

Step 1: Apply on the CSC Website
  1. Visit the official Chinese Government Scholarship Website.
  2. Register and carefully fill out your personal and academic information.
  3. Select Category B for the scholarship type.
  4. Enter Guangxi University’s Agency Number: 10593.
  5. Upload all required documents and submit the form.
  6. After submission, download the form and save it with the format: “CSC Scholarship + Country Name + Full Name”.

Step 2: Apply on the Guangxi University Website
  1. Go to Guangxi University’s International Student Application Portal.
  2. Register and complete the form with accurate information.
  3. Upload all documents, including the CSC form you downloaded earlier.
  4. Submit the form and download the final application form.

Step 3: Send Your Application via Email
After completing both forms, send an email to lxs@gxu.edu.cn with the following documents attached:

  • Both the CSC and Guangxi University application forms.
  • Recommendation letters (2 copies).
  • Academic transcript (highest degree).
  • Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
  • Study or research plan.
  • Certificate of language proficiency.
  • Published articles (if applicable).
