Yiling Cave Wuming Guangxi

Yiling Cave, known locally as 伊岭岩 (Yi Ling Yan), sits in the picturesque landscape of Wumin County, just 18 kilometers away from the outskirts of Nanning in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. This natural wonder is open from 08:00 to 17:30 daily, with tickets priced at CNY60.

Carved into the hillside of Liangman Mountain, Yiling Cave is a mesmerizing karst cave formation, sculpted over millions of years by the flow of underground rivers and the gradual shifting of the earth's crust. Inside, visitors are greeted by a spectacular display of stalactites, stalagmites, and other stunning formations, covering an expansive area of 24,000 square meters and plunging 45 meters deep. Divided into three layers, the cave's labyrinthine passages twist and turn, revealing rocks adorned with countless intricate patterns.

Legend has it that during the Southern Song Dynasty, a Taoist priest sought enlightenment within the cave, leading to its former name, Wangxian Cave, or "Watching Immortal Cave." In more recent times, the renowned scholar and poet Guo Moruo visited the cave, drawing inspiration from its ethereal beauty and likening it to the famed landscapes of Guilin.

The Yiling Cave Scenic Area encompasses not only the cave itself but also a variety of attractions such as Xianshan Temple, a Conference Center, Sightseeing Agricultural Park, Zhuang Village, and more. The village offers a glimpse into Zhuang culture, featuring traditional customs, folk dances, handicraft workshops, and authentic cuisine.

For visitors seeking relaxation and recreation, the scenic area provides comprehensive services including accommodation, dining, entertainment, and shopping. Surrounding the cave entrance, you'll find a diverse array of amenities including galleries showcasing local customs, traditional bamboo structures, cultural performances, and souvenir shops. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore nearby attractions like Jiudong Mountain and Jiulong Fountain, while families can enjoy the children's park and scenic walking trails.

Yiling Cave is not just a tourist destination but also a venue for various cultural events and governmental activities, such as the Guangxi International Folk Songs Festival and the Chinese Golden Eagle Awards. Whether you're in search of natural beauty, cultural immersion, or a relaxing getaway, Yiling Cave offers an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.
